Booking and Payment

How do I book?

Thank you for considering me! Send me a message here, or call me on 07708 934694 to arrange a no pressure pre-booking consultation where we can discuss all the requirements for your session.

How much does it cost?

My pricing structure is currently under review. Please get in contact for a quote while I finalise this year's prices.

How do I pay?

Payments may be made in person by cash, or via PayPal in person or online. PayPal is a secure payment processing service that accepts most major credit and debit cards. You do not need a PayPal account to use this service, simply checkout as a guest when prompted and enter your details. No card details are received or stored by Chris Mitchell Photography.

What is your cancellation policy?

The booking fee is non-refundable or transferable in the event of a cancellation. However, sessions that are able to be rescheduled will retain the booking fee.

In the unlikely event that I am unable to attend a session for any reason, a reschedule will be offered. If this is not suitable, then a full refund of all payments made to Chris Mitchell Photography will be issued.

Photography Sessions

How far do you travel?

My session prices include travel to and from any location within 20 miles of Dundee, Scotland. There is a small charge for each round trip mile outside of this area. Please contact me for further details on the area you have in mind.

Do you photograph other pets than dogs?

Absolutely! Whilst most of my clients are dog owners, I am always happy to accommodate any other pets. Please note, that the kind of pet you have may restrict the location of the session. This is something we will discuss as part of your pre-booking consultation.

I have more than one pet. Can I have pictures of them taken together at the same session?

Sure! Keep in mind, though, that the session time will have to be split between each pet to ensure that there are a good selection of images of each of them.

Can I/my family be in the photographs?

Not a problem. Some wonderful images can be had of families and pets together. Please note, though, as a pet photographer my focus will be on your pet as the star of the show. If you are looking for a family portrait session, then I will be happy to recommend something more suitable.

How do I prepare for my session?

Check out my full article on preparing for a dog photography session here. If you have any questions about preparing for a session with a different kind of pet, or any other concerns, please get in touch.

What if the weather turns bad?

If we are having an outdoor session, then we are at the mercy of the somewhat fickle weather. Prior to all planned sessions, I keep an eye on the upcoming forecast. Should it look like the weather is going to be unsuitable for producing the outstanding images you deserve then I will be in contact to discuss the situation and offer a rescheduled appointment at no further cost.

My dog must be kept on a leash and I would rather not see it. Can you edit this?

In most cases, the lead can be removed from the image as part of the standard editing that I provide as part of your session. You can help aid the process by using as thin a lead as possible and trying to keep the lead from crossing in front of your dog when photographs are being taken.

What is a model call session?

A model call is when a photographer is looking for a particular type of subject to photograph. This could be a particular breed or size of pet, and there is often a strong idea already in mind for the kind of images that are being looked for.

When I do a model call, I will often waive the session fee for the owners of the pet I select as I will be looking to achieve very specific images. This is in contrast to my usual charged sessions, where I work closely with the owner to achieve the kind of images they would prefer.

If you would like to be kept up to date on any upcoming model calls, please sign up to my mailing list on my contact page, making sure you tick the “Pet Photography” option under interests.

Print Orders and Returns

What are the delivery times?

Most items will usually be shipped within 14 days of the order being placed. As each item is made to order, this allows time for processing at a professional printer, before being returned to myself for a final quality check before sending it out to you. If there are any changes to this, I will let you know as soon a possible.

Can I order something not on the list?

I am happy to consider any special requests you may have. Please contact me to discuss your requirements.

Do you provide the digital files?

I work closely with selected professional printers to ensure that only the highest of quality printed items are produced. By popular demand, I am able to supply high quality digital files on USB, however I cannot guarantee a similar level of quality as that from my own suppliers, as I am unable to control the quality of any other third party printers that may be used.

However, I do understand that the use of digital displays are on the increase and all my sessions are provided with an online gallery from which watermarked images may be downloaded for use, unaltered, on personal devices and social media. Please note that these files are unsuitable for printing. Images without watermarks are available for a small charge.

Should you have a particular special requirement in mind for print ready files, then please email me (chris@mitchellphotos.co.uk) with the details and we can discuss how best to achieve this.

My item is incorrect or damaged, what do I do?

I’m sorry you have experienced a problem. Please contact me via email (chris@mitchellphotos.co.uk) including your original invoice number, the name your order was placed under and outlining the problem. If possible, attach a picture of the issue to help me determine what has happened. In the case of any quality issues, a reprint of the affected item will be offered.

Is your question not answered above?

Then leave me a message and I will get back to you.
